Charles Dixon Saylors

Mr. Charles Dixon Saylors, 83, of Washington, husband of 59 years to the late Carolyn ‘Janette’ Coker Saylors, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Magnolia Senior Living in Loganville, where he had been lovingly cared for during the last three years.

Mr. Saylors was born in Royston on June 21, 1938, son of the late William “Bill” Saylors and Lorene Johnson Saylors. Charles spent his career working in the garment industry, having served as a manager at Zeus Manufacturing. He later became an entrepreneur and opened Charles Camouflage where he manufactured hunting apparel. Mr. Saylors served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army Reserves and attended Danburg Baptist Church. In his free time, Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rescuing animals.

Survivors include his children: Charles ‘Scott’ Saylors of Atlanta and Deidre Anjanette S. McCannon and her husband Allen of Elberton; grandchildren: Harry Thomas Bradford, IV and Jonathan Davidson and his wife Jordyn; great-grandchildren: McKenzie Bradford; sister, Retha S. Partain and her husband David of Royston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Catherine S. Todd, Ralph Saylors, and Alvin Saylors.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, October 10, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ficklin Guin officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00-2:45p.m. prior to the service. Masks are encouraged.

In addition, a celebration of life will be held in Atlanta on Thursday, October 28, at 7 o'clock at 23 Northwood Avenue NE, Atlanta, Ga 30309

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the animal rescue organization of the donor’s choice.
