Charles Parker "Chuck" Eaves, Jr.

Charles Parker "Chuck” Eaves Jr., 73, of Rock Branch Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at his residence.

Chuck was born in Athens on June 16, 1950. He was the son of the late Charles Parker "Beefy" Eaves Sr. and Martha Louise King Eaves. He was a member of Middleton United Methodist Church and in later years attended Rock Branch Baptist Church.

He was a 1968 graduate of Elbert County High School and attended Emmanuel College. He was drafted by the Army and served in the Vietnam War. Afterwards he was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia before returning to Elberton.

Chuck was a salesman for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 20 years. Following his love of cooking, he opened Chuck's Bar-B-Que and ran the business for a number of years. He also worked in the granite industry for 30 years and retired from Eagle Granite Company.

A born athlete, Chuck always played sports and played them all well. He instilled that love in his sons and was their coach for many years. Chuck loved to coon hunt and he would always take his boys along with his coon-hunting buddies, Joel and Joey Bond, James McCannon and Richard Grimes. He also loved going to the mountains and to the beach, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs.

Survivors include his children, Charles Brandon Eaves, Brent Christopher Eaves and Derrick Blake Eaves (Ashleigh), and two granddaughters, Nevaeh and Noelle Eaves. He is also survived by a brother, Frank Eaves (Pam); two nieces, Jennifer Eaves Whitmire and Ashley Eaves Higginbotham; and nephew, Woody Eaves. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Martha 'Linda" Eaves and Peggy Louise Eaves.

Honoring Chuck's request, there was no visitation or funeral service.
