Charles Edwin Tiller

Mr. Charles Edwin Tiller, 90, of Deer Lane, Elberton, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Tiller was born in Point Peter, Oglethorpe County, on November 27, 1930, son of the late Hoke Smith Tiller and Mary Elizabeth Varnum Tiller. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a self employed house mover.

Survivors include his daughters: Brenda and Robert Hayes of Elberton and Cindy Pulgarin of Smyrna; son-in-law, Dennis Hayes of Elberton; brother, Floyd and Carolyn Tiller of Winder; grandchildren: Jeff and Dana Tiller, Quentin and Christine Hayes, Jamie Hayes, Grant and Ayesha Pulgarin, and Nicholas Pulgarin; great-grandchildren: Brittany Tiller and Jake Tiller; and great-great-grandson, Hayes Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary John Griffith Tiller; daughter, Linda Gail Hayes; and sister, Pauline Tiller.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. At Mr. Tiller’s request, no formal funeral service will be held and he will be entombed at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
