Mr. Chris Lamar Swilling, 49, of Indian Hill Road, Elberton, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.

Chris was born in Elberton on April 14, 1971, to James Lamar Swilling and Sarah Frances Burden. He was a very talented stone cutter in the granite industry and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Chris will be remembered for his joyful and outgoing personality. He enjoyed camping and had a special love for his nephews.

Survivors include his mother, Sarah Anderson of Elberton; siblings: Angela Swilling Claburn and Leslie Shawn Swilling, both of Elberton; nephews: Matthew Woodall, Nicholas Anderson, Ryan Claburn, and Brayden Swilling; and great-nephews and great-niece: Zyler, Marley, and Ben; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Lamar Swilling; and grandparents, Frank and Magnettie Pless Burden and James and Arietta Moon Swilling.

A Celebration of Chris' life will be held on Saturday, January 16, at 2 o'clock at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Fife officiating. Burial preceded the service in Elmhurst Cemetery.
