Clifton J. "Poppy" Carter

Mr. Clifton J. "Poppy" Carter, 66, of Elberton Highway, Dewy Rose, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at his residence.

Born in Royston on September 30, 1957, he was a son of the late Thomas Carter and Collis Elrod Carter. He was retired from the construction industry where he worked primarily in sheet-rock and painting.

Surviving are his wife, Vickie Laughlin; children: Brent Carter, Jeremy Carter, Sissy Carter, and Mandy Carter; siblings: Donald Carter, Doug Carter, and Jeff Carter; sisters: Brenda Nix, Sharon Buffington, and Sheila Carter; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
