Ms. Courtney (Cori) left this world and joined Jesus on Saturday morning, October 23, 2021. She was born in Toms River, New Jersey on September 12,1983 and was 38 years old.
She currently resided in Danielsville, GA. For anyone that had the privilege of meeting Cori, she was every description of “The Life of the Party”. Her smile would light up every room, as she would say “Hello, my name is Courtney Joanne, my birthday is coming up!” She loved her birthday, Jesus, and everyone was her family. You would always find her dancing and singing along to the soundtracks of George Strait, High School Musical, Sound of Music, and The Gaither Band.
Cori had Downs Syndrome, which she was fully aware of, however it never stopped her from living life to the fullest. She graduated high school at Monroe High School in Monroe, NC. She won multiple medals in horseback riding competitions, Special Olympics, and was in the church choir.
Cori was the oldest of 13 siblings, and very proud of it. We celebrate Cori as a dear daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and aunt. She has joined her two brothers, Joseph and Isaiah Rivera, as well as both sets of grandparents, Gerard and Patricia Tesi, and John and Deloras Rivera in Heaven.
Cori is survived by her parents, Fred and Kathy Rivera, and siblings Miguel, Malorey, Justine, Phillip, Haley, Monica, Johanna, Gabriella, Jeremiah, Zachariah and Vanessa Rivera.
The Rivera Family will have a private service but asks all family and friends that knew her to smile and know that she is now truly celebrating life with Jesus.
Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton is in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Courtney "Cori" Rivera.
