Mr. Curtis Darby Kelly, 80, of Elberton, husband of Rosalie Brown Kelly, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24,2022, at Pruitt Health Spring Valley.


Curtis was born in Belton, South Carolina on October 6, 1942, son of the late Jesse Marvin and Lillian Lorene (Kelly) Kelly. He was retired from the Elbert County Road Department where he was a heavy machine operator. His greatest joy was being a Papa to his grandchildren.


Survivors, in addition to his wife Rosalie, include his daughters: Fern and Curtis Bruce of Bowman and Tami and Bruce Corbin of Baldwin; sister, Ann Wilson of Piedmont, SC; brothers: David and Deb Kelly of Easley, SC and Mack Kelly of Tobaccoville, NC; grandchildren: Baylee Bruce, who was his 64th birthday present as she was born on his birthday, Matt Corbin, and Megan Kinley; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and Nephews.


In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by a grandson, Jackson Rudd Darby Bruce; special friend, Bill Rudd; and brothers: Henry Kelly and Roger Kelly.


The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pruitt Health Spring Valley for the love and care that was given to Papa Kelly.


A memorial service celebrating Mr. Kelly's life will be held on Saturday, December 3, at 1 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice.
