Debra Jean Christian Stansell

Mrs. Debra Jean Christian Stansell, 71, of Franklin Springs, wife of 18 years to Robert Lee Stansell, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Debra was born in Elberton on June 16, 1955, daughter of the late Obie Guy Christian, Sr. and Georgia Dudley Christian. She was a member of Franklin Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; brothers: Steve Christian and his wife Shannon of Dewy Rose and Mike Christian and his wife Rose of Stockbridge; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Kathy Bennett, Jerry Christian, Terry Christian, and Obie Christian, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
