Donald Lee Gilbert

Mr. Donald Lee "Don" Gilbert, 79, of Elm St. Elberton, GA passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Gilbert was born October 2, 1945 in Elberton, GA to Tom Henry Gilbert, Sr. and Frances Wansley Gilbert. He was an U.S. Army veteran and was a rural mail carrier from the Hartwell, GA Post Office from 1990 to 2004 where he retired. After retirement Don worked at Walmart till his health declined.

Don is survived by a sister: Sandra Lumpkin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Tom Henry Gilbert, Jr.

The family will host a memorial service celebrating Don's life on Saturday, April 19, at 4:00p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Sean Baughman.
