Donald Wesley Lovinggood

Mr. Donald Wesley Lovinggood, 88, of Whiteside Drive, Elberton, husband of 39 years to Brenda Faye Evans Lovinggood, passed away on Friday evening, September 4, 2026, at his residence.

The youngest of seven, Donald was born on October 23, 1937, in Elberton, where he lived his entire life. He worked in the granite industry and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Donald loved telling stories of days gone by, and looked forward to visits from his grandchildren, who loved their “Papa”.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Brenda, are his daughters: Wanda Gabriel, Amy McDowell, Stacey Black, Sonja Crowe, and Sheila Freeland; grandchildren: Jason, Aaron, Abbey, Caleigh, Rylan, and Piper; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Lester Rufus Lovinggood and Lenora Higginbotham Lovinggood; sons: Greg Lovinggood and Darrell Lovinggood; grandson, Jarrod Scales; and siblings: Morris, James, Hobson, Becky, Eunice, and Sue.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon, September 8, from 3:00p.m. until 3:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Jason Scales, will follow at 4:00p.m. Burial will be alongside his sons at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
