Doris Rhodes Sanders

Mrs. Doris R. Sanders Mrs. Doris R. Sanders, age 78 of Elberton, died November 15, 2008.She was born in Elbert County to the late Joseph Lee Rhodes and Eva Audrey Mattox Rhodes.She was a member of Concord UMC for over 50 years, and retired from Elbert Manufacturing as a label maker.She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Leonard Joel Sanders and her son, Leonard Van Sanders. She is survived by her daughter, Linda S. Johnson of Elberton; grandchildren, Mistie (Jason) East of Cookeville, TN, and Len (Lori) Smith of Elberton; sisters, Betty Jo (Niles) Poole, Jimmie (Marshall) Sanders, and Sara Frances Smith, all of Elberton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 PM in Concord United Methodist Church with remains to lie in state at 12:00.Rev. Al Davis officiating.Interment will follow in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Doris R. Sanders.
