Edna Dianne Payton

Ms. Edna 'Dianne' Payton, 67, of Elberton, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Dianne was born in Elberton on April 27, 1957, daughter of the late JB Payton and Edna Sanders Payton. She was a retired agent with the Georgia Division of Child Support Services and later worked at Wal-Mart of Elberton for 20 years.

Surviving are her children: Stephanie House Edwards and her husband Wally of Statham and John 'Michael' House of Elberton; brother, James Payton and his wife Lynn of Elberton; and grandchildren: Bailey Yarbrough, Bentley House, Rylen House, and Braxton House.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Payton.

At Dianne's request, no formal services will be held. She will be laid to rest privately at Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff of PruittHealth - Athens Heritage, Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital 6th Floor, and Compassus Hospice for their excellent care during Dianne's illness.
