Fred Wendall Fortson

Mr. Fred Wendall Fortson, 72, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Hartwell Health & Rehab, Hartwell.

Born on February 6, 1953 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late James I. Fortson and Bonnie Willis Fortson. Fred lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a Certified Boat and Auto Mechanic. He enjoyed repairing and refurbishing computers to give to less fortunate children to do their school assignments and was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include two sons: Corey Fortson and Chris Fortson both of Iva SC; two brothers: Steve Fortson of N. Myrtle Beach SC and Ron Fortson (Barbara) of Hartwell; two grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Fortson wished to be cremated and the family will have a private memorial service at the Fortson Family Columbarium in the Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton, at a later date.

The family requests no flowers.
