Fred "Jess" Shope

Mr. Fred "Jess" Shope, 83, of Cade St. Hartwell, GA passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Hartwell Health & Rehab. Mr. Shope was born April 12, 1932 in Otto, NC to the late Fred and Maude Shope. He was a retired Welcome Center Custodian. Survivors include a son Michael Shope of Indiana; daughters Dianne Henson of Lavonia, GA, CJ Shope of Indiana, Donna Shope of Indiana, step-daughters Terry Carter of Oregon, Bambi Harbin of Lavonia, GA; brother Conley Shope of Franklin, NC, and ten grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Fred Slayton and siblings Lake Shope, Joe Shope and Frank Shope. Mr. Shope's wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Berry Funeral Home & Crematory, Elberton is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Fred "Jess" Shope.
