George Frank Herndon, Jr.

Mr. George Frank Herndon, Jr., 77, of Brady Drive, Elberton, GA, husband of 54 years to Mary Ann Herndon, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at his residence.

Frank was born in Elberton on November 23, 1946, the eldest of three boys born to George Frank Herndon, Sr. and Hilda Rosser Herndon.  He was a 1967 graduate of Elbert County High School and a 1968 graduate of North Georgia Technical College.  He worked many years in the granite and trucking industry and enjoyed working on cars.  He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Along with Mary Ann, Frank is survived by his sons: Chris and Rebekah Herndon of Elberton, GA and Raymond and Candice Herndon of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Morgan, Haley, Colin, Bryce, and Brady; brothers and their wives: Allen and Angela Herndon of Elberton, GA and Dennis and Kimberly Herndon of Glendale, AZ; aunt, Camilla Rosser Wansley of Elberton, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, from 1:30-2:30p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. At the family’s request a service will not be held. He will be laid to rest privately at Elmhurst Cemetery.
