Georgia Caroline Bundrick Taylor

Mrs. Georgia ‘Caroline’ Bundrick Taylor, 91, of Elberton, wife of 56 years to the late William Clarke “Pete” Taylor, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Tignall House Assisted Living.

The second of eight children, Caroline was born in Winnsboro, SC on August 19, 1934, and moved to Elberton at a young age. She was a graduate of Elberton High School and worked alongside her husband as the bookkeeper at Taylor and McMullan Mechanic Shop. Caroline also operated an in-home beauty shop at her home in the Rock Branch Community for many years.

She was a dedicated member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Serving in many capacities, Caroline loved being a member of the church choir and serving on the steeple committee. She also served as an Elder, and as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Caroline loved her family dearly, and never missed an opportunity to be with them and support them in any endeavors. She leaves behind her siblings: Bettie Brady, David Bundrick, and Mary Mercer, all of Elberton; nieces: Carla Toole, Haley Oakley and her husband Cecil, and Britley Baston and her husband Bobby, all of Elberton; nephews: Chris Brady of Anderson, SC and Craig Mercer of Elberton; and a host of great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Pete, Caroline is preceded in death by her parents, George Henry Bundrick and Marian Margaret Brown Bundrick; siblings: Kathleen Daniel and her husband Bernard, Vivian Bundrick, Ruby Almond and her husband Jim, and Ivy Jean “Beanie” Bundrick; brothers-in-law: Alvin Brady and Jimmy Mercer; and niece, Pamela Almond Ayers.

Caroline’s greatest complaint during her recent illness was due to not being able to be in church on Sunday, just as she had done for her entire life. Appropriately, the family will honor her by taking her earthly body back to the church she so loved one more Sunday.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, from 2:00p.m. until 2:45p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Bobby Baston, will follow at 3:00p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in Caroline’s memory to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 517, Elberton, Georgia 30635.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to Tignall House as well as to Bristol Hospice for the exceptional care given to Caroline.
