Gwen Burdette

Mrs. Virginia Gwendolyn "Gwen" Coats Burdette, 80, of Double Bridges Rd., Elberton, GA passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

Mrs. Burdette was born June 18, 1937 in East Point, GA. She was a member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church and was retired from Pinnacle Bank.

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law: Henry and Jo Lynda Burdette of Elberton, GA, Clay Burdette of Fort Valley, GA; grandchildren: Ashley (Russ) Taylor, Amy (Dale) Ingram, Crystal (JT) Atkinson, Danielle (Kenedy) Cruz, Zac Burdette, Caleb Burdette, Christine Burdette, Elaina Burdette, Isaiah Burdette, Josh Burdette and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: Thomas Henry Burdette and a daughter-in-law Dawn Burdette.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 11AM, Saturday, December 9 at Dewy Rose Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Martin officiating. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state from 10-11AM just before the service. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Russ Taylor, Dale Ingram, Ralph Burdette, Donald Burdette, Lanier Burdette and Rusty Burdette serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home.
