Harry Keith Saxon

Mr. Harry 'Keith' Saxon, 62, of Washington Highway, Elberton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his residence with his wife of 39 years, Diane Burton Saxon, at his side.

Keith was born premature in Elberton on July 3, 1963, the middle child of Patricia Ann Rachels Saxon of Elberton and the late Harry Wayne “Bo” Saxon. He was a 1981 graduate of Elbert County High School and worked as a tank truck driver having retired from AJ Weigand. Keith was a born again Christian and proud to have been baptized by his former pastor, Rev. Roland Molina, in Lake Russell.

He was a cut-up who had a great sense of humor. Like his daddy, Keith never missed an opportunity pick on those he loved or to make anyone laugh and smile. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

In addition to his wife and mother, Keith is survived by two sons: Justin Saxon Trego of Orlando, FL and Christopher Saxon and his wife Amber of Hartwell; two grandchildren who loved their “Papaw” dearly: Greyson and Sadie; two sisters: Carol Bessinger and her husband Brian of Elberton and Allison Smith and her husband Larry of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00a.m. until 10:45a.m. in the sanctuary of Fortsonia Baptist Church. Memorial services, officiated by Mr. Larry Smith, will follow at 11:00a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

No suits and ties, please. Keith would want everyone dressed comfortably in your best UGA attire.
