Hazel Leona Abernathy Sanders

Hazel Leona Sanders, age 49, of Stephens, Ga.,passed away July 27, 2026.

A native of Demorest, Ga., Hazel was the daughter of the late Bobby Henry Abernathy, Sr. and Linda Lou Posten Abernathy. Hazel was a Master Cosmotologist.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Edward “Eddie” Sanders; children: Angel Nicole (Andrew) Kelly-Noles and Victoria Lynn Sanders; siblings: Bobby H. Abernathy, Jr., Michelle Lewallen, and Patricia Abernathy; and grandchildren: Rhett Webb, Adeline Rose Noles.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 31, 2026 at the family cemetery located at 825 Stephens Salem Road, Stephens, Ga. 30667 at 11:00am. Rev. Chris Heath and Howard Sanders will officiate.

Berry Funeral Home & Crematory, Elberton, has charge of arrangements.
