Iris Edwards Fernandez

Mrs. Iris Edwards Fernandez, 89, of Pine Knoll Dr. Elberton, GA passed away Friday, April 24, 2026.

Mrs. Fernandez was born August 12, 1936 in Elberton, GA to George Wallace Edwards Sr. and Marjorie Lucyle Dye Edwards. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Elberton, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and worked in drafting in the granite industry.

She is survived by her daughter: Carol Fernandez,; son and daughter-in-law: Vince and Tina Fernandez; brother and sister-in-law: Wallace Edwards Jr. and Joellyn Edwards; grandchildren: Zach (Katie) York, Eli (Madison) York, Alex (Bailey) Fernandez, Bella (Colby) Thomas, great-grandchildren: Lincoln Miller York, Landry Malone York, Laramie Kate York and Boyd Timothy Thomas and a special friend Bonita Ponce.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Fernandez and sisters Gloria Ann Edwards Childs and Beth Wallis.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 1PM, Monday, April 27, 2026 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends from 12PM to 12:45PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.Interment will be private in Elmhurst Cemetery.
