James Robert "Jimmy" Bond

Mr. James Robert “Jimmy” Bond, 79, of Peachtree Road, Elberton, husband of the late Sandra Jones Bond, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Bond was born in Elberton on April 5, 1946, son of the late Walter Thomas Bond and Mary Gaines Bond. He retired from the textile industry having worked at Rocky River/Mohawk. Jimmy was a faithful member of Coldwater Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters: Karen Gaines and her husband Mike and Sheila Bond, all of Elberton; grandchildren: Jamie Gaines and his wife Taylor and Bradley Tillman and his wife Christina; and great-grandchildren: Audrey Gaines, Isabella Tillman, and Paisley Tillman.

The family is at the residence of Karen and Mike Gaines, Press Mann Road, Elberton, and will receive friends on Saturday, June 7, from 1:00-1:45p.m. in the Coldwater Methodist Church fellowship hall. Funeral services will follow at 2:00p.m. in the church sanctuary, officiated by the Rev. Tim Gaines. Burial alongside his wife will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
