James Tracy Reid

James ‘Tracy’ Reid, born on August 25, 1981, in Augusta, GA to the late Ms. Glenda Ann Reid and the late Mr. Willie Fred Heard. Tracy “completed his assignment” from God on April 29, 2022. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, maternal grandmother, Ms. Hester Mae Reid; his maternal grandfather, Mr. Alton Jones; his paternal grandparents Mr. Robert and Mrs. Willie Eva Heard. 

Tracy was a graduate of the Elbert County Comprehensive High School Class of 2000. He also received a business management certification from Athens Technical College. Tracy was a man with very strong work ethic. He worked for Advantage Behavioral Health Systems until his health began to decline. Tracy had a special place in his heart for everyone. He never met a stranger and the love he had for his family was unconditional.

Tracy leaves to cherish his memories a special friend, Elmo Wilson; his step-father, Mr. James “Burt” Pope; one sister, Ms. Karanja Hughes; one brother, Mr. Christopher Parham; four maternal aunts: Ms. Mae Ellen Reid, Ms. Cherie Jones, Ms. Shantaya Jones, and Ms. Yolanda Jones; two maternal great-aunts: Ms. Polly Reid and Ms. Lorene Bolden; one paternal aunt, Ms. Christine Heard; three paternal great-aunts: Ms. Lula Johnson, Ms. Laura Mae Harper, and Ms. Mozelle Hill; four maternal uncles: Mr. Donnie Ray (Angela) Jones, Mr. William (Ethel) Reid, Mr. Dan (Tammy) Reid, and Mr. Leon (Adrian) Reid; one paternal great uncle, Adam (Addie Ree) Heard and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services celebrating Tracy’s life will be held on Friday, May 6, at 2 o’clock at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
