Jean "Dinky" West Pruitt

Mrs. Jean “Dinky” West Pruitt, age 71, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born July 24, 1953 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Eugene and Faye Hall West.

Mrs. Pruitt was an administrative assistant with the Stephens County Health Department. She was a member of Mullins Ford Baptist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday School and directed the music. Some of her favorite things included cardinals, gardening, shopping and traveling. She was a people-person.

Family members include her husband of 54 years, Walter Pruitt, II, of the home; daughter, Natalie Pruitt Henson (John), of Toccoa; sons, Adam Pruitt and Russell Pruitt (Lisa), of Toccoa; grandchildren, William Fritz, Katlyn Pruitt, Kane Pruitt, Mera Henson, Aidan Henson, Logan Henson, Abigail Irvin, Kenley, London, Nova and Colton; sister, Rayne Maxwell; brother, Hall West; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 5pm – 8pm Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at one o’clock Thursday, June 26, 2025 with the Rev. James Duncan and the Rev. Joey Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow at Lavonia-Burgess City Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kane Pruitt, J. P. Hewitt, Tony Rogers, North West, Easton West and Logan Henson.
