Jean Helton Adams

Mrs. Alma 'Jean' Helton Adams, 82, of Tugaloo State Park Road, Lavonia, wife of Thomas John "T.J." Adams, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Hartwell Health & Rehab in Hartwell.

Mrs. Adams was born in Lumpkin County on June 7, 1937, daughter of the late Henry Calvin Helton and Sarah Maranda Fields Helton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, quilting, and her family.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years and 10 months, T.J.; son, Thomas Larry Adams, Sr. and his wife Denise Puckett Adams; daughter, Lori Ann Adams Ambrose and her husband William Clarke Ambrose, Jr.; grandchildren: Thomas Larry Adams, Jr. and his wife Kati, Ashley Delaine Adams Julian and her husband David, and Ryan Clarke Ambrose; great-grandchildren: Gage, Grant, Kaleigh, Alexander, and Garrett; sister, Irene "Nan" Spencer; brother, Dean Helton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Riley James Julian; sister-in-law, Lucille Helton; and brother-in-law, Talmadge Spencer.

A graveside service will be held at Gateway Memory Gardens in Cleveland at a later date.
