Mr. Jeffrey Franklin Dunn, affectionately known as “Goober”, age 62, of Dunn Road, Bowman, husband of 33 years to Susan Jeanette Oliver Dunn, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The youngest of four, Jeffrey was born in Baltimore, MD on July 11, 1964, son of Dora Carolyn Partain Dunn and the late Emory Malrey Dunn. He was a 1982 graduate of Elbert County High School, a proud veteran having served in the United States Army, and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Jeff spoke fondly of his formative years at Camp Harmony, where, under the leadership of Beefy Eaves, he learned the value of hard work. He worked at Hillcrest Granite as well as a carpenter, but is most remembered from his time with Cherokee Services Pest Control and at Star Granite & Bronze, from which he retired.
Affectionately known as “Pop Pop”, his family was his pride and joy. Jeff enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, fishing, and cheering on the Braves. He had a great sense of humor, and always made people laugh.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Susan, of the home and mother, Carolyn, of Elberton, are his sons: Wesley (Lauren) Dunn of Elberton and Austin (Courtney) Dunn of Bowman; grandsons: Chance Montgomery Dunn and Casey Porter Dunn; sister, Joyce (David) Walker; sisters-in-law: Delores Dunn and Bonnie Dunn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Charles Dunn and Russell Dunn.
