Jennifer Lee "Jenny" Gaines Stripling

Mrs. Jennifer Lee "Jenny" Gaines Stripling, 64, of Holly, MI, formerly of Elberton, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Jenny was born in Elberton on April 25, 1962, daughter of the late Joe Wethrol Gaines and Shelby Jean Adams Gaines. She was a 1980 graduate of Elbert County High School where she excelled in softball. In her younger years, she enjoyed family vacations to Cherokee, NC. While in Elberton, Jenny worked at Dairy Queen and Sky City. She enjoyed camping, ATVing, and surrounding herself with people. She never missed an opportunity to send her nieces and nephews gifts, making each occasion a little special. Jenny was particularly fond of her four-legged companions, Shorty and Skip.

She is survived by her husband, George Thomas “Tommy” Stripling; and brothers: Ronnie Gaines of Dewy Rose, Mike and Betsy Gaines of Elberton, and Tim and Amanda Gaines of Elberton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17, from 3:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Jenny's life will be conducted on Monday, May 18, at 1:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her mother in the Concord United Methodist Church cemetery.
