Jessica LeAnn Rigdon

Jessica LeAnn Rigdon was born on November 26, 1987, in Anderson, South Carolina and entered into rest on August 28, 2023, in Comer, Georgia, at the age of 35. Her love of stars as a child carried on into adulthood and ultimately gained her the nickname of “Star”, something she was particularly proud of.

The oldest daughter of James Lavelle Rigdon and Carolyn Diane Hardy Rigdon, Jessica was a Daddy’s girl from the very beginning. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting alongside her Daddy and being with him every where he went. She loved dancing as a child and was one of Tupac’s biggest fans.

Jessica’s outgoing personality allowed her the ability to befriend absolutely anyone. She never met a stranger and was loyal to a fault. If you were her friend, she always had your back, no matter what. Jessica was a feisty individual who embraced marching to the beat of her own drum. Her vibrant, often changing, hair colors and tattoos were ways in which she freely expressed her self.

Her untimely passing leads a void in the hearts of many, but we take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace, free from all earthly burdens, and has been reunited with her daddy James Lavelle Rigdon, son Dallin Lewis Rigdon, and special cousin Brian Lewis.

She leaves behind her devoted mother, Carolyn Hardy Rigdon of Elberton, Georgia; sister, Krista Ethridge and her husband Garrett of Sanford, North Carolina; grandparents: Dan and Tincie Hardy of Elberton, Georgia, Bobby Rigdon of Elberton, Georgia, and Clara and George Schwaeble of Newton, Mississippi; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

 

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services celebrating Jessica's life will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Buffington and Roland Molina officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
