John Alvin Barton

Mr. John Alvin Barton, 80, of Bowman, passed away on January 11, 2022 at his home. John was born to the late Lou Ernest and Cornelia Barton on November 3, 1941. John was married to his wife, Dorothy Ann Barton for a wonderful 59 years. John loved his family. In his spare time, John enjoyed working in his yard and working in his shop. He loved collecting coins and playing the guitar. John was also a big Nascar fan. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his son, John Gary Barton. John is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Barton,and his son, Neil Barton (Marylin). John has five grandchildren, including Kristie Harrell (Matthew); also, five great-grandchildren, including Austyn Harrell. A Graveside Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Arrangements for Mr. John Alvin Barton were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
