John Mallory Triplett

John Mallory Triplett, 60, of Athens, GA, passed away on May 22, 2023, in Elberton, GA. John was born in Texarkana, TX on August 20, 1962, to Otto B. Triplett Jr. and Lettie Mae Mallory Triplett. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters: Donna Mae Gurley Lynch and Sandra Gurley.

John attended Texas High School in Texarkana, TX and went on to receive his degree from the University of Texas in Arlington, TX. John was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Athens, GA.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving brother, William Gurley, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Athens, 355 Pulaski Street, on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 12:30 P.M.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Athens in John’s memory.
