Joseph Edwin Freeman, Jr.

Joseph Edwin Freeman, Jr., 77, of Dawson, formerly of Elberton, passed away at home on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Herod Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jack Ray, Dr. Emil Askew and Pastor Eric Segars will officiate.

Joe was born in Elberton, Georgia on March 20, 1939 to Joseph Edwin Freeman, Sr. and Martha Smith Freeman. He was a member of Herod Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a grandchild, Garrett Segars. Survivors include his wife, Nell Reese Freeman; daughters, Vicki Freeman of Athens, Angela F. and Buch Segars of Elberton and Trina F. Sasine (Robert) of Moultrie; brother, Lee Freeman of Leesburg; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
