J.T. Shaw

Mr. John Tinsley Shaw, better known as J.T., of Dewy Rose, GA finished his course in faith on Friday, July 7, 2017, at the age of 88.

Mr. Shaw was born in Elbert County on December 13, 1928, son of the late John William Shaw and Essie Mildred Mann Shaw. He was a retired logger having worked for Butler Forest Products and a member of Unity Baptist Church. Mr. Shaw proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved being outside, fishing, tending to his flowers, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children: Tinsley Deland “DD” Shaw and Jean, Mary Jane Ingram and Keith Smith, Wanda Gail Nucklos and Jeffery, Sheila Ann Shaw, and April Diane Myers and Tracy; siblings: Julia Nash, Susie Mae Donald, and Louis Shaw; grandchildren: John Shaw, Josh Frank, Brooke Earley, Dustin Ingram, Vanessa Dickerson, Jeremy Nucklos, Madisen Carey, and Johna Myers; great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Kyler, and Kooper Shaw, Kyler Johnson, Evan and Theo Frank, Joseph Nucklos, Breanna and Blaklie Dickerson, and Chandler and Kason Carey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Wilma Shaw, Pauline Rousey, Eva Bell Pulliam, Sara Brown, Raybon Shaw, Holcomb Shaw, and Buford Shaw; and a granddaughter, Samantha Nucklos.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11AM on Monday, July 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams and the Rev. Jamie Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at the residence of April and Tracy Myers on Pulliam Mill Road in Dewy Rose and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7-9PM on Sunday evening.
