Juanita Snelling Boyd

Mrs. Juanita Snelling Boyd, age 77 of Elberton, died November 21, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Henry Brock Snelling and Katie Lou Nelms Snelling.She was a lifetime member of the Elberton First United Methodist Church, a member of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary at Elbert Memorial Hospital, a member of the Elberton Elk Club, and worked at Boyd Granite since its inception over 50 years ago.She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William C. Boyd, Sr. and her son William C."Hoppy" Boyd, Jr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Betty Jo Boyd of Elberton; grandchildren, Brock Boyd of Athens, Jeff Boyd of Elberton, Brooke Boyd of Elberton, Brittney Boyd Eddy and Ryan of Colbert, Brandon Boyd of Elberton, and Bridget Boyd of Athens. Funeral services will be held Sunday November 23 at 3:00 PM in Elberton First United Methodist Church.Rev. Wayne Smith and Dr. Wallace Wheeles officiating.Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.The family will receive Sunday 1-3 PM at the church prior to the service.Those desiring may make contributions in Mrs. Boyd’s name to Elberton 1st UMC.
