Katherine Jenifer Hand Barachina

Katherine Jenifer Hand Barachina, age 59, of Dacula, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.

A native of Atlanta, Katherine was the daughter of the late Kenneth Delano and Rita Lynn Ray Hand. She graduated from Riverdale High School in Clayton County where she formed many lifetime friendships. 

Katherine was a dedicated and loving mother who nurtured her child to great achievements. Her love for her family & friends was unparalleled and anyone that ever met her was in for a treat. Her beauty, charm, wit and humor left everyone with a smile. 

As a dedicated fur mom, Katherine’s love and care for her pets was a beautiful thing to behold. She loved the beach, Elvis, Rick Springfield, 80’s music, and was a passionate sports fan. The world has lost a special person with a beautiful soul. There will be peace in the valley for our dear Katherine. 

Survivors include her husband, Joe Barachina; son, Jason Barachina; and brother, Adam (Kellie) Hand. 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026, at 2:00p.m. in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Adams will officiate, and burial will follow the service at Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. until 1:45p.m. prior to the service.
