Mrs. Kathryn ‘Eugenia’ Dye Willis, 91, of Deadwyler Road, Elberton, wife of the late Charles ‘Lindy’ Willis, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Arbor Terrace Hamilton Mill in Dacula.
Mrs. Willis was born in Elberton on September 9, 1934, daughter of the late Herbert Johnson Dye, Sr. and Marion Elvera “Vera” Johnson Dye Suddeth. She was a supervisor having retired from the textile industry and a member of Doves Creek Baptist Church. Eugenia loved participating in the church’s JOY club and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Myra Willis of Hoschton and Charles and Jan Willis of Elberton; sister, Elaine Goss of Douglasville; grandchildren: Marshall Willis of Decatur and Amy Pitts and her husband Terry of Dacula; and great-grandchildren: Parker Pitts and Carson Pitts.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Jenkins, Herbert Dye, Jr., Milton Dye, and Stephen Dye.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00-2:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Douglas Huff, will follow at 3:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services, officiated by the Rev. Eric Lovin, will be in the Doves Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will include Marshall Willis, Clarke Dye, Brian Goss, Carson Pitts, Parker Pitts, Corbin Mattox, Terry Pitts, and Jesse Kaiser.
Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in Eugenia’s memory to Doves Creek Baptist Church, 1971 Athens Highway, Elberton, GA 30635.
