Linda Moss Dean

Linda Moss Dean, age 81, of Hoschton, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Born February 8, 1945, in Elberton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Mozelle Thompson and Julian Moss.

Mrs. Dean devoted 30 years of service to Decatur Federal Savings and Loan, retiring as a Vice President. She was admired for her professionalism, leadership, and unwavering kindness to everyone she met.

Linda was known for her generous heart, caring spirit, and gentle nature. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed local travel and sightseeing, as well as spending quiet time reading when she wasn’t busy with her family. Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives and will be remembered by all who knew her.

Family members include her sons, Kevin Dean and Kendal Dean; daughter-in-law, Shannon Dean; granddaughter, Miranda Dean; brother-in-law, George Dean; sister-in-law, Tammy Brown; cousins Tom Cox, Julia Woodward, and Sharon Anderson; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe McCall Dean, Jr., and her sister, Janice Sartain.

The family takes comfort in the love, kindness, and memories Linda leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Friday, May 15, 2026 prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Friday, May 15, 2026 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Mike Petty officiating.

Burial will be at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
