Lona Darnell Bonds Summers

Ms. Lona Darnell Bonds Summers, 71, of Elberton, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at her residence.

Ms. Summers was born July 21, 1954 in Elberton, GA to Waymond Earl Bonds and Leacy Bell Davis Bonds. She was a stencil cutter in the granite industry. 

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Shirley Scarborough of Bowman, GA, Brian Scarborough and Laura Cornelison of Elberton, GA, daughters and sons-in-law: Kim Reynolds of Elberton, GA, Julie and Brad Burton of Elberton, GA, Laura and Josh Fowler of Hartwell, GA, siblings: Allen Bonds of Elberton, GA, Virgil "Buck" Segars and Angela of Elberton, GA, Gail Medina of Elberton, GA, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by daughter: Katrina Childs, siblings: Earl Bonds, Joel "Willie Bob" Segars, Wayne Bonds and Ann Raines.

Funeral services to celebrate Lona's life will be held 2PM, Friday, July 25 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Greg Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Josh Fowler, Brad Burton, Carter Dye, Jace Fowler, Mark Nash and Delaney Childs serving as pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of Julie and Brad Burton, 2435 Cunningham Rd. Elberton, GA and will receive friends from 1PM to 1:45PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
