Marcia Elaine Cleveland

Miss Marcia Elaine Cleveland, 54, of Rock Branch Road, Elberton, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hartwell.

Born in Elberton on May 18, 1971, Marcia was the youngest of three children of Thomas Jefferson “Tom” Cleveland and Dorothy ‘Elaine’ Tiller Cleveland. She was a 1989 graduate of Elbert County High School, and worked as an executive assistant at Seaboard Farms as long as her health permitted. She also worked as a secretary at First Baptist Church of Elberton and Rock Branch Baptist Church.

A lifelong resident of Rock Branch, Marcia was an active member of Rock Branch Baptist Church. She cherished the time spent with her Women’s Bible Study group, which she attended Monday morning. Marcia was devoted to her daily devotion, and often times shared it with her friends and family.

She had a special love for the beach, and was fortunate enough to spend time with her family at the beach during two different occasions this summer. Her family was her greatest possession next to her friends. Marcia loved deeply, gave the best hugs, and never missed an opportunity to express her love and the love of Jesus to others.

She leaves behind her son and the apple of her eye, Austin Thomas Cleveland of Anderson, SC; parents, Tom and Elaine Cleveland of Elberton; brother, Michael Cleveland of Lawrenceville; sister, Melanie Berryman of Elberton; nephews: Bobby Berryman of Elberton and Finn Cleveland of Lawrenceville; and numerous other relatives and friends. Marcia is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Scott Berryman; and sister-in-law, Jennie Cleveland.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Marcia's life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24, at 2:00p.m. at Rock Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Vaugh and Rev. Sid Tiller will officate, and music will be provided by Rev. Gary Purvis and Mrs. Tami Finch. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bobby Berryman, Finn Cleveland, Derek Thomason, London Mayo, Jim Tiller, Cody Shull, Allen Childs, and Mike Mercer honored to serve as pallbearers. The service will be live-streamed on the Rock Branch Baptist Church Facebook page.
