Marion Joan Fuller

Marion Joan (pronounced “Jo-Ann”) Fuller, 91, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Meriwether Memory Gardens in Manchester, GA, with Dr. Bob Patterson officiating.

Joan was born to Edna Self Avey and Albert Avey in Warm Springs, Georgia, on March 15, 1934. She was a generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Raised by her mother during the Great Depression, she learned from a young age to stick up for herself and the people she loved. Joan attended Manchester High School, where she was a cheerleader. Earlier in her life, she worked periodically at the Little White House gift shop with her mother. She played bridge with her bridge club, crocheted, and was an avid reader. She and her beloved husband Reid Fuller had three sons: Doug (Cindy) Fuller of Macon, GA; Thad (Shaunna) Fuller of Trophy Club, TX; and Mark (Kim) Fuller of Elberton, GA. After their retirement, Joan and Reid owned and operated the successful Wind Spinner shop in Warm Springs for sixteen years, featuring Reid’s handcrafted wooden wind spinners and Joan’s careful eye for collectibles. After Reid’s death in 2021, Joan moved to Macon and for the last four years and enjoyed many visits from family.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, grandchildren Kelley (John) Land, Katie (Murray) Barnes, Dusty (Christy) Fuller, Sarah Fuller, Reid Fuller, and Grace Fuller; great-grandchildren Samantha and Natalie Land, Andrew and Emery Fuller; and her uncle Edwin Self and numerous cousins. They will all miss her witty and blunt sense of humor as well as her constant support of their endeavors.

The family will accept flowers or donations in Joan’s memory to First Baptist Church, PO Box 383, Warm Springs, GA, 31830.

The Fuller family is being assisted by Cox Funeral Home 93 Prather Barnes Road Manchester, GA 31816. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.coxfh.com.
