Mary Jane Adams, went to be with The Lord Jesus on July 2, 2026 at Elbert Memorial Hospital peacefully with her immediate family by her side.

Mary Jane was the widow of Lloyd Esmond Adams, to whom she was married sixty years. For the last ten years she lived in Elberton, Georgia with her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sandy Adams.

She enjoyed serving as secretary and organist at Hillcrest Baptist Church, teaching Women’s Bible Study Fellowship, reading, painting, sewing, arts, crafts, swimming, puzzles, watching the Denver Broncos and (in more recent years) cheering for her favorite player, Mecole Hardman, Jr.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to all the wonderful doctors at the Elberton Medical Center, especially Dr. Dan McAvoy who was her primary physician for the last ten years, and the compassionate staff at Elbert Memorial Hospital, and to Mary Jane’s extended family of caregivers: Pam Allen, Latoya Cummings, Phyllis Highsmith, Marie Mize, Joyce Rivers, Jennifer Rucker, and Jenny Yeargin.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.“ Psalm 116:15
