Merle Spivey White

Mrs. Merle Spivey White, 90, of Arnoldsville, passed away on April 26, 2022 at her residence. Merle was married for 63 years to the late Charles Freeman White. She was an accomplished homemaker where she enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing; her prized baking won her two blue ribbons. Merle had an infectious laugh and loved to tell jokes. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Living Waters Baptist Church. In addition to her beloved husband, Merle was preceded in death by her parents, George and Willie Mae Spivey; one sister and four brothers. Merle is survived by her son, Darryl White (Geraldine Bruce) of Arnoldsville; her brothers, Lamie Spivey of Crawford and Richard Spivey of Winterville. She also is survived by her special friends, Grace Young, Josephine Yearwood, and Liz Bray. Services were private and interment followed in Arnoldsville City Cemetery. Arrangements for Mrs. Merle Spivey White were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
