Michael Lee Smith

Mr. Michael Lee Smith, age 46 of Elberton, died November 27, 2008. He was born on Dec. 17, 1961 in Elberton to Bobby Lee Smith and the late Betty Jean Rousey Smith. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors as well as NASCAR.He will be truly missed by all.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel Smith, George and Etta Rousey, mother and father-in law, Gladys and John Roy Segars. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Alma Smith; a daughter, Ashley (Stephen) Williamson; son, Christopher Michael Smith; three grandchildren, Natalie and Cole Smith, and Ethan Williamson, all of Elberton; parents, Bobby Lee (Sherry) Smith of Elberton; grandmother, Bertice Smith of Elberton; sisters, Tina Smith of Elberton, Tammy White of Anderson, SC, Angie (Jeff) Rousey of Bowman, Amanda (Joseph) Evans, Brandy Smith, both of Elberton; brothers, Toby Alewine, Michael Bond, of Elberton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 30 at 3:00 PM in Hicks Funeral Home Chapel.Rev. Tim Adams officiating.Interment will follow at Bethesda UMC Cemetery.The family will receive friends Saturday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
