Mr. Otis McIntosh, Sr., 78 of Elberton Georgia, was called home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at
Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia.
Mr. McIntosh was born in Elberton, Ga on February 5, 1944; Son of the late Mr. Willie & Odessa
(Jones) McIntosh of Elberton, Georgia. He was educated in Elbert County School Systems. In
1961, he married, built a home, with his wife, and had six loving children. He worked at a rock
quarry for many years, and retired as a crane operator. Mr. Otis loved his family, and friends.
When it came to Mr. McIntosh, nobody was a stranger, he enjoyed everyone. He was a member
at Cade’s Chapel Baptist Church in Elberton, Ga. He loved his church family there as well.
Mr. McIntosh was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Willie Beatrice McIntosh; his youngest
daughter, Mrs. Maxine (McIntosh) Eberhart, (Hull, Ga); Both parents, Willie & Odessa (Jones)
McIntosh, ( Elberton, Ga); Nine siblings, his brothers Jake (Knoxville, TN), Lenwood, Cofer, and
Harry McIntosh (Cleveland, OH), and; his sisters Roena Booker (Elberton, GA), Rita Hurst
(Cleveland, OH), Mary Lewis (Gainesville, GA), Carrie Middlebrook; Willie Sue Samuel;
Knoxville, TN.
Mr. McIntosh leaves his memories to cherish with his five children: Cathy McInthosh Hickman
(Randy Hickman), of Athens, Ga; Christopher McIntosh (Iris McIntosh), Houston, Tx; Otis
McIntosh Jr. (Tabitha Stokes McIntosh), of Athens, Ga; Willie McIntosh, of Pueblo, Co; Andrew
McIntosh, of Elberton Ga; Son in law, John Eberhart, of Hull, Ga. Ten Grandchildren; Shaquita
Eberhart; Hull, Ga, Amber Eberhart (Brian-lil man Walton). Athens, Ga, Carlos Williams;
Houston, Tx, Tabitha Williams; Athens, Ga, Umar Mcintosh; Athens, Ga, Christopher Mcintosh
Il, Malcolm Mcintosh, Camron McIntosh, Hisham Mcintosh; Houston, Tx, and Maurice Mcintosh,
Elberton, Ga.; Five Great Grandchildren: Ziya & Tarail Parks, Hikari & Minori Walton, Matthias
Rucker, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services celebrating Otis’s life will be held at 2PM on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Cades Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McIntosh will be placed in the church to lie in state from 1PM to 2PM just prior to the service.
The family will receive friends and family from 11AM to 2PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Berry Funeral Home and at other times may be contacted at the home of his daughter, Cathy Hickman, 2049 Forest Acres Cr. Athens, GA 30601.
