Richard Dean Mercer

Richard Dean Mercer, 57, of Newberry, died Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on April 1, 1963 in Elberton, GA, he was a son of the late George Robert Mercer and Mildred Dean Mercer Barton. He was a diesel mechanic at Davenport and Willingham and was a member of Concord Methodist Church in Elberton, GA. Mr. Mercer enjoyed working and watching the History Channel.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Owens Mercer; a daughter, Audrey Mercer; a sister, Rhoda Albertson of Elberton, GA; a brother, Randy Mercer of Dunwoody, GA and host of nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the home where they will receive family and friends.
