Robert Lewis Dickerson

Mr. Robert Lewis Dickerson, 87, of Woodland Road, Elberton, husband of Janie 'Garnette' Lanfair Dickerson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his residence. 

Mr. Dickerson was born in Orangeburg, SC on January 31, 1939, son of the late Pierce Thomas Dickerson and Pearl Wiles Dickerson. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy, and was a air craft mechanic having retired from Delta Airlines. Robert was a member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting for arrowheads, as well as attending antique and yard sales. 

In addition to his wife, Garnette, he is survived by his children: Mike Dickerson and his wife Barbara of Arlington, TX, Alisas Duncan and her husband Scott of Newnan, Kelly Scott and her husband Alan of Hartwell, and Michelle Goodyear and her husband Michael of Winder; sister, Faye Hix of Hull; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Craig "Bobby" Dickerson; daughters: Ronnette Mills and Kimberly Mills; and brother, Charles Dickerson. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
