Robert “Bob” Furcron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 15,2025. Born in Elberton, Georgia, to Mel and Ruth Furcron, Robert lived a life marked by faith, love, and service.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States military as part of the Munitions and Chemical Corps. Prior to his service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Physics from North Georgia College. Following his service , he earned his MBA. His sharp mind and steady work ethic led him to a long and successful career in water treatment, retiring after more than 30 years with Der-Kel Chemical.
For nearly 60 years, Robert faithfully worshipped and served at Silverdale Baptist Church, where his love for the Lord and others shone through everything he did. His generosity and genuine care touched countless lives — he never met a stranger and was always ready with a helping hand or a corny joke to make you smile.
Robert was married to the love of his life for 57 wonderful years. Together, they built a family grounded in faith, laughter, and deep love. Outside of work and church, Robert enjoyed simple pleasures — riding his mower, spending time outdoors, and shooting guns.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, kind heart, and joyful spirit. Robert loved God, his family, and his friends with all his heart, and his legacy of love and humor will continue to live on through those who knew him.
His parents, Mel and Ruth Furcron and wife of 57 years, Joyce Furcron preceded him in death.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Kim Mabry (Scott), Karen Hollis (Bill); grandchildren, Micah Welch (Jessie Volpi), Alexandra “Alex” Ghaffari (Parker) and Cameron Hollis.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, his Silverdale family, pastors and especially his Sunday school class who loved and cared for him so well.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2025 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Silverdale Baptist Church Student Ministry Building (SMB), 7216 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
