Robert Freeman "Bobby" Roberts

Robert Freeman (Bobby) Roberts, 68, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Bobby, a native of Elbert County, was born to Robert Patrick (Pat) Roberts and Priscilla Thornton Adams Roberts. He was a graduate of Samuel Elbert Academy and received an Associate Degree in Computer Programming from Piedmont Technical College. 

He spent over 20 years working in the poultry business in Athens, GA and surrounding areas. In his younger days, Bobby was an avid golfer playing in High School and College. He also loved to be outside and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout Elbert County for many years. 

As he slowed down in life, Bobby loved to spend time with his grandson and watch his golf on TV. Bobby was known to have a kind heart and was rarely without a story to share. Although his stories will be missed, his memories will live on in the hearts of his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Denise Delores (Dee Dee) Cleveland Roberts of Elberton.He is survived by his son, Tyler Roberts and his grandson, Conner Roberts, both of Elberton. He also leaves behind brothers Rick Roberts (Elaine) of Charlotte, NC and Donny McKellar (Tracy) of Greenwood, SC.

A service to honor Bobby's life and burial in Elmhurst Cemetery will be planned at a later date.
