Ronald Joe "Ronnie" Gaines

Mr. Ronald Joe "Ronnie" Gaines, 68, of Elberton Highway, Dewy Rose, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his residence.

Ronnie was born in Elberton on November 19, 1957, son of the late Joe Wethrol Gaines and Shelby Jean Adams Gaines. He was a graduate of Elbert County High School and worked most of his career in the maintenance department at Whitlow Electric. Ronnie later went to work with his brother as a mechanic at Mike's Garage, from which he retired.

He is survived by three sons: Brad and Stephanie Gaines of Newnan, Corey and Karla Gaines of Seneca, SC, and Justin and Leanne Gaines of Elberton; brothers: Mike and Betsy Gaines of Elberton and Tim and Amanda Gaines of Elberton; brother-in-law, Tomy Stripling of Holly, MI; grandchildren: Nathan, Kaylee, Kayleigh, Caleb, Asher, Kile, Kilee, and Kylan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, August 29, at 12:00p.m. at River of Life Church in Hartwell.
