Rosalie Richardson Ham

Mrs. Rosalie Richardson Ham, 85, of Jefferson, formerly of Elberton, wife of 61 years to Thomas Hiram “Buddy” Ham, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Mrs. Ham was born in Atlanta on November 16, 1940, daughter of the late Lewis Emmett Richardson, Jr. and Virginia Mae Wells Richardson Glover. She was a graduate of the former Brown High School in Atlanta and worked as a telephone operator at Southern Bell in her younger years. Rosalie later worked in various retail sales positions, from which she retired.

She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She loved singing and dancing, and completing word searches. Affectionately known as “Grandma Ham”, her greatest joy in life came from being with her family.

Surviving are her children: Denise Cash of Hoschton, Kimberly Cannon and her husband Terry of Valdosta, and Melinda Plavcan and her husband Greg of Jefferson; grandchildren: Amanda Miller and her husband Darl, Autumn Wall and her husband Josh, Olivia Vickers and her husband Travis, Megan Herrington and her husband Dallas, Stacie Lowry and her husband Matthew, Savanna Harvey and her husband Matthew, Lacie Johnson and her husband Jacob, Brittany Walker and her husband Leonard, Kyle Plavcan and his wife Emily, Kristina Halchishak and her husband Jake, Amy Cannon and Lee Cannon and his wife Joni; thirty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. and again on Tuesday, December 30, from 1:00-1:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, 1265 Washington Highway, Elberton, GA 30635.

Funeral services celebrating Rosalie’s life will be conducted on Tuesday, December 30, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Adams. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, with Greg Plavcan, Kyle Plavcan, Kevin Mcpherson, Darl Miller, Tanner Miller, Josh Wall, and Hunter Smith honored as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Terry Cannon, Matthew Harvey, and Jacob Johnson.
