Rufus Pierce Sutherland

Rufus Pierce Sutherland, 67, of Elberton, Georgia husband of the late Vera Cornelia Beeks Sutherland passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Elbert County, September 20, 1945 to the late George Sutherland and Anna Belle Turner Sutherland. He was retired from Eaves Packaging Company. Left to cherish his memories are his children Kevin Lee Sutherland of Elberton, Georgia; Michael K. Sutherland of Atlanta, Georgia; David Earl Sutherland of Lawrence, South Carolina; and Melissa Sutherland of Colombia, South Carolina and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Scotty Lee Sutherland and his brothers and sisters. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 12noon on Friday, November 23, in the Dewy Rose Baptist Church.
