Sam Paul Jones Sr.

Sam Paul Jones Sr., 77, of 1533 Hartwell Highway, Elberton died Monday November 15, 2010 at his home. Born in Stone Mountain, Ga he was a son of the late Jewell T. Jones and Ida Bell Jones. He was of the Baptist Faith, a retired salesman from Grand Quartz and a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include a son Sam P. "P.J." Jones Jr. of Athens, GA step-sons Brian Robinson of Moncks Corner, SC and Kip Hufstetler of Elberton, GA, sisters Bobbie Hayes of Elberton, GA and Velma Bowman of Anderson, SC, and one grandchild Ashford Jones. He was preceded in death by two sisters Lois Payne and Jewell M. Lovinggood. To fulfill Mr. Jones requests the family will have a private memorial service to celebrate and honor his life at Clark Hill Lake.
